Our family started its journey in south Florida. Me, my wife, our son and our daughter. We were a young family just starting out. We stayed down south for 12 years, but my wife and I wanted to get back to our roots and head back up north. My wife was from North Jersey and I was from Pennsylvania. We rented a house in Pa. for eight years while saving for our dream house. Well you know what they say "If you want to hear god laugh tell him your plans". We ran into some medical problems that brought us to our knees. When we finally made it through our medical nightmare we used what savings we had left and bought an affordable house not "Our Dream House". We renovated the whole house from top to bottom. My wife decorated our house to look like the country magazines that now sit on our coffee table. We stayed there for four years and had no plans to leave our home. But by the grace of God we had an opportunity to move into "Our Dream House". So, four years ago, our family moved into a Historic farmhouse that was originally built in 1848. It's crazy because we lived in a 12oo square foot row house one day and then we moved to a 3500 square foot historic home the next.
The first year was like a whirl-wind as we struggled to keep up with our hectic lives, and the demands of the farmhouse and its outbuildings. You see, we live in the main house, but there is also an in-law quarters, a three-car garage, a carriage house, chicken coop and a fish pond.We moved into our new house in late October. It was great everything looked so beautiful until the winter hit. We learned that snow removal took more than a shovel in a place like this. So we burned a lot of wood , shoveled a lot of snow and made it through our first winter. That's how it started for us. We will continue with the our written journey and a few photos of the next steps of our life here in our farmhouse.
Well, more to come. Stay Tuned.
